| Over het wijnhuis | Château Sociando-Mallet is een naam om te onthouden. Het is gevestigd in Saint-Seurin-de-Cadourne, een mini-dorpje in het noorden van de Haut-Médoc op nog geen vijf kilometer afstand van Château Calon-Ségur, een Grand Cru Classé in het beroemde Saint-Estèphe. Naar verluidt worden de beste wijnen van de Médoc geproduceerd door wijnstokken met uitzicht over de Gironde. “Château Sociando-Mallet has the best view of the Gironde of any Médoc château I have visited”, aldus Jancis Robinson. |

| Awards | "Freshness and brightness to this. Medium to full body with firm, juicy tannins. A little chewy now, but will come around nicely with bottle age. Excellent for the vintage. Better after 2021." - James Suckling "Inky crimson with black core. Dusty cassis nose. Leafy on the palate, juicy and fresh but could do with a little more flesh in the middle. Very firm grip on the finish. Dark and savoury aftertaste." - Jancis Robinson "The 2017 Sociando-Mallet has turned out well. Pliant and supple on the palate, the 2017 has quite a bit of aromatic complexity as well. I would prefer to drink it on the young side given its mid-weight structure. The 2017 is not quite as overt as it was en primeur, but it is impeccably balanced and very nicely done. Cool savory accents round out the finish." - Vinous |
