Drinking Window: 2023 - 2040
Intense raspberry fruits, chocolate shavings, tobacco leaf and liquorice. Successful overall with rippling muscular tannins and good acidity. Owned by Domaine Bouteiller, this vintage was the last year with Paz Espejo, she has left after 10 years at the helm, her successor had not been announced at time of tasting (although she was château director as well as technical director, and in this Pierre Delage has taken over the role). September 22 to October 7 for the harvest. Eric Boissenot consultant.

Drinking Window: 2024 - 2034
Nicely textured from the start with tannins that are softly grainy giving a weight and frame to the red berry fruit with herbal edges. This has a both a sour and savoury tang which gives the wine character and energy. Nice high acidity with some bitter dark chocolate edges, subtle liquorice, creamy/chalky raspberries and some salty minerality. Lots going on here - still a little tense, this hasn't softened and expanded fully but there's excellent potential. Will be delicious. Eric Boissenot consultant.
| Over het wijnhuis | Château Lanessan ligt bovenop een met kiezel bedekte heuvels, dichtbij de rivier de Gironde. Het landgoed is gevestigd aan de rand van het appellatiegebied van Saint-Julien, grenzend aan de wijngaarden van Château Gruaud Larose, op het grondgebied van AOC Haut-Médoc. Vanaf de heuvel is er een prachtig uitzicht op de wijngaarden. |
